Houston Public Library--Central branch

It's large--it's bright--it's open.

And I love it.

Located off of Smith and Lamar, the Houston Public Library central branch is only 8 blocks away from me. This summer, I believe I will be spending an inordinate amount of time there, with their multiple levels of books and their 60+ public access computers. Yesterday, I read an entire book (granted, it was short) sitting in the fairly comfortable but wholly aesthetically pleasing chairs looking out the wall of windows to the intersection of Bagby and Lamar. That may not seem like a lovely view, but the light brought in from the windows creates a very warm and inviting atmosphere. I am headed up to the children's books today--to get more ideas for my story that I'm working on. Plagiarism is not my goal, mind you. Just getting ideas for layouts, publishing companies, etc. I would spend all my days here if I didn't have other things I actually had to get taken care of.

Like my car.
I don't know what it's problem is--idling too slow. Seriously, who does it think it is?

Like listening to This American Life
I believe that this accounts for most of my problems with insomnia the past few days.

Like cleaning my apartment.
Since I put in my 60 day notice that I will be leaving, they said they will call me with 24 hours notice to show my apartment. So, now I have to keep it clean. All the time. Maybe not tough for you, and it shouldn't be for me either...we'll see.
