I love this!
Here is an example of what I am learning how to do now. It is so elegant, so sexy, and so beautiful! I don't know that I will ever be this good at it, but I have to start somewhere!

A New Poem
There are magnets in your eyes, I swear.
And mine are made of metal.
The pull unsteadies me.
I rebel a little, then drag toward you
while you stand fixed
making yourself the center of your own
emotional gravitation.
You mouth the words,
“I love you”
and your inexorable influence grows
so that no repulsion occurs
and I crash into your open arms.
How you bend the laws of Science for your cause!
And mine are made of metal.
The pull unsteadies me.
I rebel a little, then drag toward you
while you stand fixed
making yourself the center of your own
emotional gravitation.
You mouth the words,
“I love you”
and your inexorable influence grows
so that no repulsion occurs
and I crash into your open arms.
How you bend the laws of Science for your cause!

8:17 Haikus
I like how everyone interpreted the topic differently!
I was waiting for someone but I decided to go ahead and post. If you'd like to get yours on here go ahead and leave it as a comment.
I love them that love Me;
and those that seek me ear-
Ly shall find me. -'Verbs
--KStock
Opening Proverbs
is not "[seeking] me early"
at eight-seventeen.
--Ben C.
Title: Temple Work
Dedication, desire
Infinite promises of
Births and beginnings
--KafE
8:17 pm, August 11th, near Victor, Montana
lumbering oak tree
blacksmith, wordsmith, divine hosts
sacred travelers
--BHB
Fifty things to do
And bed time's 9:30
Something's gotta give.
--Erin D.
The train moved forward.
I tried to keep hold of his
disappearing eyes.

Haikus: Slippery Slope
Here are the haikus for this week. If you didn't get it to me before now, please still post it as a comment! I know I will read it, anyway.
Each step more pleasant
It's not going to matter
If I take one more
--Erin d.
Up and down through days:
The moguls of life surpass
the slalom of sin.
Truckers: stay in gear!
You are not down the mountain!
Steep decline 12 mi.
--Ben C.
Hiking is scary
Especially when it snows.
One misstep and --aaaah!
--KapMel
Obama sneezes
Iran shoots nuclear weapon
Annhilation
--Bardochka
Impromptu haiku from Olympus given over the phone:
Oh crap, my haiku!
I forgot to write this week.
Okay, here it is.
Each step more pleasant
It's not going to matter
If I take one more

Haiku--Give me a Sign
Here are the haikus for last week:
Two stars to the right
go straight 'till you hit morning
Call me when you're close.
--Jesse O.
Call it in the air
Heads, okay it’s tails again
Try two out of three.
--Lauren D.
Stop, one Way, detour,
Pedestrians prohibited,
Speed limit, dead end.
You ask for one, I give you 6. GO ME!!!
--Kathy C.
Trigonometry:
Wave won't pass through origin.
Show me a cosine.
--Ben C.
Circles in the corn,
Water in the glasses too!
Swing away, my boy!
--Lisa B.
So here is your sign,
man in the lame Ford Focus.
You can't pimp your ride.
--Bird
Your wussy Hummer
will not save you in a war.
Turn off that blinker.
--Olympus
Orion's Belt won't move!
I need a shooting star, not
dumb constellations.
--Statuesqe TC.
