Contradiction

We talk of hunger
Feed the world, but not our own
homeland starvation.

Freedom is not free
He bought us freedom with blood
Has it been wasted?

And on a lighter note:

No, mommy! I won't!
Cleaning is for the grown ups.
I just want to play.

Chacho's rocks!

I can't believe I've been here for 9 months now and last week was the first time I'd ever been to Chachos.
http://www.chachos.com/

This Mexican restaurant (on Westheimer just past Bering) has an immense menu with inexpensive food that is served quickly to your table.

Plus, it's very, very tasty.

Very tasty.

And it's open 24 hours; I'm not quite sure how it can get any better than this, unless they offered some sort of home delivery option. And you know what? The atmosphere is so fun and lively that you would probably enjoy going in rather than getting it delivered.

Every employee that we encountered was incredibly polite and friendly--we were very impressed with our service!

I crave it now!

The Edwin Story

This is a little homage I made for the lizard I freed the other day. Sometimes you have to let go of what you love the most...

Creature Creativity

"Which creature?", you ask.

"What Creativity?", you ask again.

"Why did you find this?" you may ask.

Well since you are so full of questions, Let me be full of answers.

And it all has to do with the dead frog, that looked like a mummy, that my kids found, that I put in a plastic bag, only to discover in the morning that the frog was acting as fodder for yes...you guessed it...maggots.

But did you know they could paint?

The maggots that is...and quite well actually...Take a peek.

Haiku Impromptu

Winter

Snow on the doghouse
looks like a frosted muffin.
I want to eat it.

Dawn

The sun's rays heat the
morning dew, making steam baths
for the lady bugs

September

Crunchy leaves cover
the broken sidewalk as I
trudge slowly to school

What Bardo heard as she typed this over the phone:

the phone rings eat thee
morning dew making seem baths
for the lady thugs
Pepper

raunchy leaves cover
*phone static* more phone static
fudge slowly to school

I'm back with a vengeance!

Mostly, I'm just back. But I am excited to have a blog again!
